33,000 Square Feet of Heaven for Green Energy Startups

Greentown Labs is a space where over 40 energy and clean-technology startups can be developed. 33,000 square feet of offices with labs, machine shops and electronic stores provide young entrepreneurs with everything they need, including shop tools, free software licensing and 3-D printers.

The best thing about Greentown is that they don’t take away any percentage of the startups’ income. While working there, companies have to pay $425 per desk, per month, and $3.20 per square foot of lab space. Usually, after a year or two, startups get enough funding to move to their own space.

This new idea is a chance for many startups to come into existence. Greentown provides an opportunity to work with professional equipment, take part in educational workshops or even meet influential investors. There’s no other place where early stage startup creators would be able to use such advanced tools and get inspired by other innovative entrepreneurs.
