$9 Billion-Worth Theranos Was Using Competitors Equipment

Theranos is now under criminal investigation. This blood testing company, founded by Elizabeth Holmes, has a serious problem. Everything started with a reporter who read a restricted article about the technology used by this health-technology business.

The startup from Silicon Valley claimed its blood-testing technology could supply an enormous amount of data with only a tiny sample. Holmes herself was always very tight-lipped when regarding the technology. In an interview, which she gave to TNY, she said: “a chemistry is performed so that a chemical reaction occurs and generates a signal from the chemical interaction with the sample, which is translated into a result, which is then reviewed by certified laboratory personnel.”

Unfortunately, it appears that the technology wasn’t working as well as it should have and Theranos used its competitors’ equipment. Now the case is being investigated by F.B.I
