Serafim, a Taiwanese startup founded in 2010 by a group of experts in the optoelectronics industry, has created a device which may appear inconspicuous at first glance. iKeybo – a small cubical tool – carries many benefits for daily life. This the world’s most advanced virtual laser projection keyboard and it can turn any flat surface into your keyboard or piano. Let’s see what makes this tiny device so stunning.
First of all, iKeybo contains multiple languages layouts. It’s a pain to type on the wrong keyboard layout if you speak more than one language, as different layouts may not provide the special language characters you need. But, with iKeybo, you can choose from 4 different languages keyboard layouts (English, Spanish, Arabic, and Chinese). Serafim‘s team is collecting requests for various language layouts. Thus, in the future, you can add German, French, Italian, Hebrew language layouts and more.
Secondly, iKeybo can turn into a virtual studio with more than four musical instruments. This device allows you to create your music instantly with the built-in music app. You don’t need to carry heavy instruments with you. Now, you can carry your piano, guitar, bass, or drums in one little cube.
Thirdly, iKeybo combines a keyboard with a portable USB charger, complete with 10 hours of 2000mAh lithium-Ion battery life. When not in use, you can use this device as an external battery charger to power up your smartphones and tablets. It also has smart energy-saving modes to save power and enable a quicker return to active mode.
Fourthly, the design of iKeybo should speak for itself. Usually, the layouts of modern laser projection keyboards are square keys with no space in between. Thus, it’s very easy to make a mistake. That’s why Serafim has invented the round buttons layout to fix this problem. In addition to its multiple functions, iKeybo also serves as your phone stand. It can turn your mobile device into a computer. This feature seems to be pretty useful when you are live streaming or video recording.
Last, but not least iKeybo comes with an app. You can adjust the brightness of the keyboard and learn the current battery level. iKeybo also has Software Development Kit (SDK) Support for iOS & Android Apps. Simply install Serafim iKeybo framework to your developers App. You can then interact with your App through iKeybo and unleash yourself from a 5” screen to a 12” surface.
Currently, Serafim’s team is crowdfunding iKeybo on Kickstarter. The campaign is truly successful because the product has already achieved its goal. You can still pre-order an early bird copy of iKeybo $89 and help Serafim to “reach the highest rank in their professional fields.”
