Facebook has just launched Messenger Day, which seems to be a Snapchat Story clone. The new feature of the popular chat app is now available only in Poland for testing and, if the results are satisfying, it might soon be launched in the international market.
After installing Messenger Day, users are able to share pictures, videos, stickers, and posts which can be seen by all Facebook friends and disappear after 24 hours. Sounds familiar, huh? Even the interface is very similar to Snapchat. It seems that it’s hard for Facebook to face up to the fact that Snapchat isn’t “part of the family” so they try to “steal” its users by adding popular Stories, first to the Instagram and now also to Messanger.
Facebook is slowly becoming an old-fashioned communication tool since young people tend to prefer sharing their life on Snapchat. We know that a drowning man will clutch at straws, but this strategy to copy a well-known app might have a negative impact on the wider opinion about Facebooks’ Messanger, which is already claimed not to meet users’ expectations.
